On 05/24/23 at 4:51 p.m. Deputies responded to a Frontier Drive residence to conduct a welfare check on the 68-year-old Silvia Liliana Archambo. An acquaintance of hers had contacted law enforcement on this same date and relayed that they had not heard from the female for an extended period.
Deputies responded to the residence and located the owner's vehicle in the drive. All access points to the home were found to be secured and locked. Repeated knocks on the door were unanswered. An alert Deputy found a paper memo near the front door from a utility provider. The memo was a reminder to the owner that the electricity bill was past due. The reminder was dated 01/09/2023. Upon discovering this item Deputies forced entry into the home. Once inside they located the owner deceased in the living room of the home. The owner's canine was also found deceased in the same vicinity.
Investigators were summoned to the scene to conduct further investigation. A warrant was obtained to search the residence and seize any evidence that may reveal the cause and manner of death of the victim.
An array of evidentiary items was developed and collected from the residence. Investigators were able to create a timeline of the victims' last days by reviewing financial transactions, personal writings and items located within the home.
Through the investigative process Deputies were able to determine that the victim was last known to be alive in mid-October of 2022. Based upon the evidence and facts developed, it is believed that the victim passed away on October 10th, 2022, or within the following days.
Neither the victim nor canine presented any sign of injury or trauma. Evidence was found indicating that the victim was suffering from an undiagnosed medical issue that was causing her significant pain and immobility. It appears that the Canine passed from dehydration. There is no evidence that criminal activity was involved in the victim's death. She moved to Clay County a few years ago from another state and had no family in the area. Her surviving family was notified of her passing.
