Frank W. Kay, Jr., 94, of Riverdale, KS, passed away on Monday August 31, 2015, at Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield, KS.

Funeral Services held 11:00 A.M. on Thursday September 3rd, at Shelley Family Funeral Home of Wellington, KS. Inurnment services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday September 4th at (Stated in Obit -Prairie Lawn Cemetery of Wellington, KS). Burial site located in Sumner Memorial Garden, Wellington, KS. A memorial has been established in Mr. Kay's name with the Leukemia and Lymphonia Society.

Frank was born on January, 28, 2015 at Minneapolis, Kansas the son of Frank W. and Winfred V. (Norton) Kay, Sr. He was reared and educated in Wells, Kansas and then later graduated from Minneapolis Kansas High School.

He was united in marriage to Lela Rasmussen in 1943 in Wells, Kansas. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was honorably discharged June 6, 1946. After his military service, he went to work as a mechanic in the aircraft industry. He worked for Boeing and retired from Gates Learjet on February 1, 1986. He enjoyed helping at the Christian Church School. He was a member at Christ Body Fellowship in Riverdale, KS. He was everything from the janitor and handyman to the bus driver on trips the church would take. FHe enjoyed keeping his yard mowed and was a very independent man. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

His family includes his daughter: Gloria Bebee and husband Joel of Riverdale, KS; his 2 grandchildren: Danny Dandurand of Ozark, MO and Tammy Squire of Wichita, KS; his 5 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
