Mr. Evans died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.
He was born April 1, 1918, in Lawrence, the son of Clarence and Jenny Morris Evans.
Mr. Evans served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a machinist for CVS Industries, formerly Tublar, for 22 years and retired in 1983. He was a member of First Regular Baptist Church in Lawrence.
He married Doris Evans on April 21, 1949, in Lawrence. She died in July 1985.
Survivors include three sons, Morris Evans Jr., Clackamas, Ore.; Philip Evans, Inglewood, Calif., and Roger Evans, Blythe, Calif.; two daughters, Pamela Williams, Compton, Calif., and Debra Evans, Phoenix; 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
