Val Earl Thompson
February 14, 1925 - September 5, 2019 (age 94)

Val E. Thompson, age 94, passed away September 5, 2019 at his home in Minersville, UT. He was born February 14, 1925 in Minersville to Earl and Essie Thompson, the fifth child in a family of seven.

Val graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1943. He served as a Ball Turret Gunner in a B-17 on 35 combat missions in World War II.

His working years were spent at Tooele Army Depot, retiring in 1975. He moved back to his beloved Minersville to spend his retirement years. Val loved hunting, fishing and especially traveling with the camper or trailer in tow. His garden was his summer joy.

Val married Ann Ingram on April 29, 1978. He is survived by his wife Ann and one sister, LaRee Hollis of Laguna Niguel, CA.

He is preceded in death by daddy’s little girl Valerie; his parents; brothers Ward, Dan, and Leland; sisters Elma Blackburn and Vera Cooper.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 12:30 pm at the Minersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Minersville LDS Church on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 11:00-12:00 pm. Interment will be in the Minersville Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
