Margaret Richard Bordelon Norris was born in Church Point, Louisiana, Acadia Parish, to Eddie Richard and Elizabeth McBride Richard on August 4, 1933.

Margaret attended LeCompte High School in LeCompte, Louisiana. She played the clarinet in the school band and was a tap dancer. After high school she met and married Sgt. Noland Bordelon, USMC, on January 1, 1951. They moved to Kenmore in Fredericksburg, Virginia where Noland was stationed, and lived in the small kitchen quarters upstairs. Margaret acted as an extra in reenactments while living at Kenmore. Later in life she and Noland were Catholic Missionaries in McNary, AZ, Mandan, North Dakota and Homer, La.

Of this marriage were born four children; Dale Anthony Bordelon, Denise Michelle Bordelon, Larry Joseph Bordelon and Gary Miles Bordelon. Noland Bordelon died on September 7, 1989, leaving Margaret a widow.

On May 1, 1992 she married Henry C. Norris, widower, of Monroe, Louisiana. They were wed at the Newman Center on the campus of Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. They went on their honeymoon to Pinetop, AZ and decided that would be where they made their home until April 29, 2013 when they moved to Van Alstyne, TX.

Margaret was diagnosed with cancer on June 17, 2019 and passed away peacefully in her home on August 12, 2019, one week after her 86th birthday. Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband, Noland Bordelon, son, Gary Bordelon, son, Larry Bordelon, grandson, Gaston Bordelon, her parents and ten siblings. Margaret is survived by her eldest son, Dale Bordelon and her only daughter, Denise Bordelon Wood, and fourteen grandchildren.

Margaret was a fan of the LSU football team and rooted for them when she was able. She was also a Dallas Stars Hockey fan. Hockey was in her blood; she was the cousin of "Maurice the Rocket Richard". He was a Canadian professional hockey great who played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadians.

We will remember Margaret as a poet, musician, singer, teacher, ice skater, fun loving, joke telling, active wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who lived a life of prayer and devotion. May she rest in eternal peace.
