US ARMY, KOREA∼Edley M. Coon, Jr., age 89, of Columbus, Ohio and Fort Wayne, Indiana died June 9, 2019. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on January 24, 1930, the son of the late Edley M. Coon, Sr. and Bessie (Waltmire) Coon. On July 11, 1953 he married Jean E. Moore in Texas. Together they shared 64 years. Edley is survived by his daughters, Vicki L. Cox and Kelle D. (George R.) Robinson; four grandchildren, Ryan D. Cox, Troy C. Robinson, Jordan A. Cox and Nikki J. Gunnlaugsson; two great-granddaughters, Bailey Cox and Railynn Robinson. He is preceded in death by his father, Edley M. Coon, Sr.; mother, Bessie A. Coon; grandson, Jesse A. Cox; and son-in-law, Gary L. Cox. Edley was a member of The Chapel in Fort Wayne, Indiana and was attending Heritage Freewill Baptist Church for the last year in Columbus, Ohio. He loved books and was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan.
