Marvin served in the United States Navy, from July 15, 1944 to June 8, 1946. He married Dorothy A. Peterson in 1947 in Kiron, Iowa, they had lived in Hastings for 61 years before moving to Omaha. Marvin had worked for Hastings Schools as Plant Engineer-Electrician for 35 years. He enjoyed the last of his years in Omaha with his daughters and their families.
Marvin was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hastings and the Lutheran of the Master, Omaha, He played cards twice a week which was his greatest enjoyment. He also enjoyed traveling, camping and gardening.
