Norma Dease Gardner, age 84, passed away on September 2, 2019 with her family by her side.
She was born in Meridian, MS to John and Gladys Dease. She graduated from Gulfport High School in The Class of 1952. Afterwards, she attended MGCCC in Perkinston where she met her husband Jerry and graduated in The Class of 1955. She worked in civil service for the United States Navy for 34 years, 20 years at the Navy Sea Bee Base and 14 at Ingalls Shipbuilding. She was a long time coast artist and was well known for her work.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Dease and Gladys White Dease; and four sisters, Millie Blackledge, Louise Coffey, Juanita Pitts and Patsy Turan.
She is survived by her husband Gerald "Jerry" Franklin Gardner, Sr. of Biloxi; two children, Gayle Sharp of Gulfport, Gerald "Jerry" Franklin Gardner, Jr. of Diamondhead; two grandchildren, Sean Sharp, Grayson Sharp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, act.alz.org or MGCCC Foundation at mgccc.edu/alumni/mgccc-foundation
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Kare-In-Home Hospice for their care provided.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, MS. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd. Biloxi is serving the family. An online obituary may be viewed and condolences offered at www.riemannfamily.com
