Cecil Paul Brown, 76, of Lucedale, MS, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 in Lucedale. Paul was born on February 4, 1943 to the late N. Richard and Edna Brown. Paul owned Main Street Carpet for many years and retired from maintenance with the City of Moss Point. He will be remembered as a hard working father, for his witty sense of humor, and for his love of playing his guitar and singing. He battled cancer for the last couple of years, during this time Paul enjoyed being with his family and church family at Christ Church of Pascagoula.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by sister, Olive Brown Hart; step-daughter, Cindy Brown; sisters-in-law, Elmira Brown and Janice Brown; brother-in-law, Marshall Schmitz; and loving mother of his children, Mearle Ehlers Brown.
He is survived by his loving companion, Linda Brown; children, Regina (Bart) Etheridge, Rev. Chris (Christie) Brown, Eric (Katrina) Brown, Jason Brown, and Joey (Holly) Brown; step-son, Richard (Christy Dodson) Brown Jr.; grandchildren, Tyler Etheridge, Dallas Etheridge, Logan Brown, Connor Brown, Gabriella Brown, Gavin Brown, Kirstin (Cody) Gray, Taylor Marie Brown, Luke Brown, Noah Brown, Judah Brown, Eleanor Brown, Chandler Hudson, Christopher Hudson, Hayden Dodson, Paulus Brown, Shelby Brown, and Arielle Brown; great-grandchildren, Michael Gray, Scarlet Gray, and Hazel Gray; siblings, Robert (Esther) Brown, Marion (Thyne) Brown, Mary Brown Catt, Clarence Brown, Clyde (Ann) Brown, Kenneth Brown, Shirley Brown Schmitz, Lonnie (Carlene) Brown, Sidney (Stephanie) Brown, and Larry (Elaine) Brown; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
The visitation for Paul will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 12 noon with Bro. Alton Stokes officiating. Interment will be held at Orange Grove Cemetery.
