Kathleen L. Hill was born in Denver on September 11 to James and Elaine Hill. She went home to God on September 16, 2018 after embarking on a journey with leukemia. She was the former Executive and Artistic Director of Hill Academy of Dance & Dramatics, Inc. for 25 years and founder of The Colorado Time Steps Dance Company. Most recently she worked for Denver Public Schools as the Licensing and Program Quality Coordinator for 7 years. She always said she was so blessed to have had 2 careers she absolutely loved. A dancer from age 5 years she graduated from Colorado Women's College with a teaching degree, Grades K-12, in Integrated Arts with intensive study in theater and dance. A lifelong learner Kathy went back to school on 2 occasions earning her Large Child Care Center Director License and her Colorado State Early Childhood Coaching Credential. As a dancer and actress she performed with The Denver Post Opera and Bonfil's Theater and throughout Colorado in numerous productions and industrials. She appeared in opening acts for Jose Feliciano, Kenny Rogers and Bob Hope. She also appeared as a weekly regular on Blinky's Fun Club as his tap dance teacher and as lead dancer in the Channel 9 Fall Promotional TV commercial. Her dance students were city, state, and national champion competitors competing throughout the USA and performing in Disney World and Disneyland. Many of her students went on to successful professional careers in LA, NYC, and Las Vegas. She also toured for many years as a Guest Judge with the International Dance Competition Organization, I Love Dance. She often remarked that she led a very glamorous life. But her greatest accomplishment, and what she was most proud of, is the legacy she leaves in the greatest loves of her life, her sons Terry (Christy) Jones and Jack Sheldon. Being their mother was her greatest joy! In addition to her sons and daughter-in-laws she is survived by her sister Virginia (Steve) Winn, a brother Dr. John (Gail) Hill, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and many dear friends. Kathy was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Parish and the Carson-Brierly-Giffen Dance Library at D.U. Memorial Contributions can be made in her name to either of these entities.
