Loretta Morris, 79, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019. She is the only daughter of the late James and Elsie Goddard born on August 23, 1940 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was married to Melvin S. Morris and is survived by her 5 children, Ricardo, Kevin, Lindsey, Richard (Donna), and Melissa Morris. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by one and only brother, Willie James Goddard who was survived by his wife, Esther and two sons, Cedric and Michael. Loretta was a 1958 graduate of Howard High School. In addition, she received her Associates Degree as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Draughons Junior College. Loretta spent more than 30 years in service to the Haney and Parks families on Lookout Mountain. Loretta was always on the go! While Honey, as she was so affectional known by many, only had five biological children, she can be credited for raising, helping guiding and nurturing many, many more. She was an excellent cook who never met a stranger she didn’t feed. One of her biggest dreams was to visit Africa.Visitation is Friday, September 13, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 12 noon in the chapel with Bishop Richard Morris as the eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
