Jane Catherine Swanson (nee Murphy) a resident of Pennsauken passed away on August 30th surrounded by her loving family.

Jane’s life was all about love, and that is how we will remember her. Jane wanted to help, take care of, and care for, everyone who was in her world – Rob and Andrew, her parents, her siblings, their spouses and children, her in-laws, other family and friends. When Jane met Rob – her husband of 45 years – she discovered a new type of love, that of her own family. And then came Andrew, their son and the brightest star of Jane’s world.

Yes, Jane loved all of us. Whatever the need, there was Jane, offering to help. One day when a beleaguered, slightly plump cat showed up at her door Jane let her in and before she knew it, ended up with 5 kittens. Jane, being Jane, kept all of them and loved them too.

As a child Jane loved spending summers at the beach. She loved to play in the ocean and lay in the sand watching seagulls dance in the sky. Jane had a beautiful voice and the ability to brighten up everyone’s day through her laughter and smile. Her illness did not diminish that smile. No matter how sick Jane felt, she still worried about everyone else. That special smile was still on Jane’s face towards the end. It was a smile that said “I love you”. Jane’s last words to Andrew - her son and the light of her world – were about how very much she loved him. Jane’s love is her legacy, it is a love that has enriched all who knew her. Jane will be missed by all of us.

Jane is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Leona Murphy. Jane is survived by her loving husband Robert Swanson, her son Andrew Derick Swanson. Dear sister of Patricia (Harry) McCracken, Joann (Paul) Magowan and Tom (Effie) Murphy and brother and sister-in-law Chris and Annette Swanson. Jane is also survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and a host of friends.

The Immediate family is invited to Jane’s memorial service Thursday starting at 11:00AM at Givnish’s of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main St. Interment at Brig. General Wm. C. Doyle Veteran Cemetery will be private. To share your fondest memory of Jane visit Givnish.com
