Audrey Lee McCoy (Cress), 90, currently of Suwanee, GA and formerly of Palm Beach Gardens, FL peacefully passed away to her heavenly father on October 25, 2018, with family members by her side.

Audrey was born August 27, 1928, in Coeburn, Virginia, the daughter of Jim and Mary (Smith) Cress. She was raised there and graduated from Coeburn High School. She married right out of high school to Columbus Rufus McCoy (Mac). They were married 42 years before Mac passed away in 1988.

The couple made their homes in Tennessee for 20 years and then moved to Jacksonville, FL for 2 years before moving to Palm Beach County in 1967. Audrey lived in Palm Beach Gardens until her move to Suwanee, GA to be near family in 2017.

Audrey is survived by two sons Richard (Sandy) of Suwanee, GA and Michael (Daiane) of Reston, VA and one daughter Rosemary Paladini (Steve) of Appleton, WI; seven grandchildren (Tim, Ken, Chris, Nick, Alex, Alexis and Ethan) and seven great grandchildren (Abby, Cooper, Parker, Jack, Emma, Nora and Reba). Audrey’s three brothers preceded her in death.

Audrey was a PTA member and volunteered at Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts when her children were young. She was a member of the Jr Women’s Club in TN, volunteered as a Pink Lady at Holston Valley Hospital in TN and a former member of the American Business Women’s Association. Audrey was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Audrey worked at Village Bootery in Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter, FL for over 25 years and loved coordinating shoes and handbags for customers as well as helping to decorate the window displays. She especially cherished the time she spent with her friends, family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved Bingo and playing cards as long as friends were willing to put a “little something in the pot” to make it fun.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, November 3rd at 11 AM at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home 201 Morningside Drive, Buford, GA. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at 10-11 AM.
Audrey will be laid to rest at the McCoy Cemetery in Leck, VA on Monday, November 5th at 11 AM.
