Letha Scott, age 79 of Kevil died Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at her residence. She was born the daughter of the late Raymond Ray Cooper and the late Violet Elliott Cooper. She worked in retail for many years. Through her church, she was a member of the Jolly Elders Club, W.M.U. She was a seamstress and was a member of First Baptist in Kevil.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at First Baptist in Kevil with Dr. Stewart Strickland officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 12:00 noon until the memorial hour. Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her sons: Tony Abernathy (Dee Dee) of Cameron, Texas, Darrell Abernathy of Kevil, and Gary Scott (Chasity) of Ottumwa, Iowa; her daughters: Bobbie Winters of Kevil, and Wanda Lathrop (Michael) of Ottumwa, Iowa; her sisters: Erna Rae Jett of Kevil, and Ella Joe Moss (William) of Paducah; her twenty one grandchildren and her 50 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Dale Scott; her son: Ray Abernathy; and her sisters: Lu Anne Burnley, and Nell Quvadas Dennis.
