Rev J.C. "Johnny" Durham, 85, of Jasper passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at his home in Jasper. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, September 05, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Jasper County Cowboy Church in Jasper. Interment to follow at West Oaks Cemetery in Jasper. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, September 04, 2019 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Shultz Funeral Home in Jasper.
J.C. was born on August 29, 1934 to Cora & Bower Durham in Colmesneil, TX. A lifelong Pastor, ordained in 1959 with Assemblies of God, Neches Valley Sectional Presbyter and former Pastor of First Assembly of God in Jasper, TX, as well as 8 other churches in this area. He is preceded in death by his wife Anita Kaylon Durham; a daughter and son in law Rebecca Nelle & Darrel Raabe; as well as two sisters Joyce Powell and Mollie Jo Carter. Survivors include two sons Randy Durham & wife Lindy of Jasper, TX and Jeff Durham & wife Pam of Jasper, TX; a daughter Danise Durham Roach & husband Ricky of Jasper, TX; two sisters Shirley Ann Washburn & husband Glen of Huntington, TX and Eloise Madden & husband Dean; a brother in law his "best buddy" Durreal Burchfield of Jasper, TX; nineteen grandchildren Brian, Kassie, Kendall, Samantha, Tyler, Dixie, Kalob, Casey, Trey, Jordan, Kourtney, Justin, Kaycee, Krystal, Johnathan, Rachel, Amanda, Kaylon and Cody; thirty-one great grandchildren; as well as one great great grandchild.
