Earl Leon Thompson, age 79, of Shelbina, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019, at the SMS Hospital in St Charles, Missouri.

Leon was born March 31, 1940, in Shelby County, Missouri, the son of Earl Leon and Delia M. (Kenerly) Thompson .

Leon was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church of Shelbina. He enjoyed motorcycles, car racing, sports especially football, and trucking.

He is survived by two children, Terry L Thompson of Los Angeles California, and Shermalyn Thompson of Los Angeles California; three sisters, Mary Adlene Grant of Quincy, Illinois, Margaret Grant (Wendell) of Livermore California, and Anita Thompson Chenevert of Hayward, California; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.

Leon is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 1 pm at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri. Visitation will precede the service starting at 12 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Donor’s Choice.
