As a young man he enlisted in the Army, serving during the Korean War. He later worked for many years at Barnes Lumber Company. He also worked at John Linkous and Flow Auto Sales.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Ada B. Harris; daughters, Joann Shelton (Craig) and Debbie Brown (Richard); two devoted cousins, Ann Shirley Jackson and Jean Keeler; his four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Culpeper National Cemetery.
