Kristofer was born March 13, 1990 in Fort Worth, Texas to Sherry and Cliff. He was greeted by an excited older brother, Dustin. Kris experienced a lot of life in his brief time here on this earth.
From an early age Kris developed an interest in knowledge. He was always eager to learn something new. That desire for knowledge turned into a passion for reading. No matter the genre, Kristofer loved to read. Harry Potter, Star Wars, IT, Awaken Online, he just loved to read. Reading took Kris to a place outside of reality, and sometimes that is what he needed. In August 1996, Kris had a new sister, Katelyn, to share his love of reading with.
In high school he became an avid gamer and met some of his greatest friends through online games. Kris played online games with people from all over the world that knew him as: DrWookieeMD or UNDEAD WOOKIEE. Those friendships truly changed his life.
After struggling to decide on a major, Kris found his true passion in writing. On July 3, 2018, Kris became a published writer. He had accomplished a goal that many can only dream of. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing for Entertainment from Full Sail University on August 31, 2018. He had so many stories, fiction and non-fiction, that he needed to share with the world.
His book Perspect;ve is his true story about the challenges he faced with mental illness and depression. He wrote in hopes of saving a life. The reviews of his book on Amazon are evidence that he has saved multiple lives through his writing.
On August 27, 2018, Kris began dating the love of his life, Caty Sue Cain. They were meant for each other. They made each other so incredibly happy and it was visible to everyone that knew them. Together they made plans to marry, have children, and grow old and senile. Caty meant the world to Kris. She was responsible for making him the happiest he had ever been in his lifetime.
On August 10, 2019, Kris unexpectedly lost Caty. This was earth- shattering and devastating to everyone. Just two days later, the world lost Kris. On August 12, 2019, Kristofer Dalton West joined his love for all eternity. He is missed tremendously by anyone that knew him.
Family and friends, Kris wrote about his mental illness and depression. He wrote about his battles with suicide in hopes of saving just one life. Please reach out for help if there is a battle that seems too hard to win. There is hope for better days. Live it for Kris.
"Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more"
-Carry On My Wayward Son, Kansas
"If they say
Who cares if one more light goes out?
In a sky of a million stars
It flickers, flickers
Who cares when someone’s time runs out?
If a moment is all we are
We’re quicker, quicker
Who cares if one more light goes out?
Well I do, Well I do"
-One More Light, Linkin Park
