She was born on May 18, 1944 in Meridian, MS and retired from South Central Regional Hospital where she was employed as a licensed practical nurse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Cleveland Childress and Troy Lee Kelly Childress.
Survivors include her son, James Harper (Stephanie Marche' Harper) of La Vernia, Texas; two daughters, Joy Lynn Harper and Tina M. Harper both of Laurel; two grandchildren, Jude Henry and Casin Thornton; and three sisters, Charlotte Saul of Sandersville, Barbara Dianne Jackson of Laurel, and Joan Saul of Sandersville.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2019 at Memory Chapel with a graveside service at 10 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Stringer. Rev. Eric Estes will officiate.
