Clevenger, Richard Harold age 96; of Shepherd; passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017; at the Woodland Hospice House of Mt. Pleasant. Services for Dick will be Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Shepherd with Father Fred Kawka and Father Rob Howe officiating. There will be a Visitation on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church from 4 to 8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Jerry Green officiating.

Dick was born January 30, 1921 the son of Clemont and Laurel (Green) Clevenger. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Dick served on the Village Council of Shepherd. He was in the church choir and was particularly proud of being one of the original members of an organization that started little league baseball in Shepherd in the 1950s. Dick married Margaret Wischmeyer April 9, 1983. He and Margaret enjoyed playing golf and almost traveled to all 50 states together. Dick was a family man with a lot of love to give. Dick is survived by his wife Margaret; his 8 children Joe (Lucinda) Clevenger of Shepherd, Mary (Dave) Davis of Weidman, Theresa (Mike) Kidd of Bath, Elizabeth (Tom) Hohlbein of Shepherd, Barbara (Ed) Hohlbein of Shepherd, Joyce (Larry) Lethorn of Newago, Madonna (Mick) Taylor of Shepherd, and Geralyn (Steve) Moeggenborg of Shepherd; 6 step-children John (Loretta) Wischmeyer of Farwell, Patricia (Mike) Machuta of Mt. Pleasant, Vicki (Lon) Bohannon of Lansing, Sue (Dave) Boge of Shepherd, Jeff (Sharon) Wischmeyer of Leroy, and Shelly (Scott) Jerome of Cincinnati, OH; sister-in-law Ann Clevenger of Taylor; 57 grandchildren; 114 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and many nieces; nephews; and his special dog lady bug.

Dick is preceded by his late wife Agnes K. (Conroy) Clevenger (1982), whom he was married to for 38 loving years; 3 daughters Ann Louise, Margaret Ann, and Angela Marie; 2 step-daughters Evelyn Marie and Linda Louise; step-son Daniel Wischmeyer; granddaughter Gina; 2 brothers Joseph and Melvin Clevenger; infant sister Joy.

Memorials can be made on behalf of Dick Clevenger to Woodland Hospice or St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home of Shepherd.
