Shirley “Joann” Harmon, 83, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of Monday, June 24, 2019 with family by her side.

She was born on April 30, 1936 in Moscow, Idaho to George and Opal (Hylton) Froman. She married the love of her life, Arthur L. Harmon Jr., on August 30, 1956 in Moses Lake, Washington.

Joann was employed for many years as a cook with the Oak Park High School in Missouri. She was a member of the United Methodist Women’s group, a den mother, and a member of the Elks Club.

Joann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was many things to many people, Mama Jo, Granny Jo, Bingo and SKIP-BO champion, Arts and crafts extraordinaire. She was an incredible cook, a dedicated cheerleader, an amazing listener, and always a shoulder to lean on. Her love and spirit will live on forever in our hearts. She had a blast playing in the Kitchen Band as Frosty the Snowman and even went to Clown School.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Art; her daughter, Kathy Morse of Puyallup, Washington; her sons, Gary (Donna) Harmon of Prairie Village, Kansas; and Robert (Patty) Harmon of Bettendorf; ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren; and brother Robert (Monica) Froman of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
