Funeral services for Lewis Donald "Don" Hubert will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with burial in the Minerva Cemetery.

Visitation will also be Saturday from 2:00 until service time at 3:00 p.m.

Lewis Donald "Don" Hubert was born May 8, 1930 in Minerva to Ralph and Jessie (Lewis) Hubert. He served in the U. S. Air Force for 20 years and retired as a Master Sergeant on August 31, 1966. During his career he lived in France, Fairfield, California and Oxnard, California. After his retirement he worked two years for the U. S. Air Force. On July 31, 1952 he and Araminta Talboy were married in Oakland, California. They have lived in Rockdale the past 17 years.

Don passed away Wednesday morning, September 4, 2019 at his home in Rockdale reaching the age of 89.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Araminta "Vi" Hubert on June 7, 2003; his parents; two daughters, Donna Lynn Hubert and Denise Diana Austin; three brothers, Hoyle D., Ralph Byron and Charles "Cotton" Hubert; and six sisters, Florence Fletcher, Ara Bell Hubert, Mae Agnes Van Meter, Bonnell Gjedde, Doris McCutcheon and Jessie Lou Neatherlin.

Surviving are daughters, Barbara Darnell Jensen and husband, Bruce of Santa Barbara, California and Sharyn Hubert of Rockdale; brother, Jack Hubert and wife, Lou of Bryan; sister, Margaret Hubert Denman of Minerva; eight grandchildren, Brandi, Travis, Brian, Brad, Michelle, Tyler, Brittany and Cassidy; and five great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Mason, Savanna, Cade, Julia, Ethan and Meagan.
