Nathaniel “Speedy” Jones, 48 passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at his home in Covington. He was a union carpenter employed by OKI Interiors.
Speedy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to his parents Obie Jones Sr and Billie Sue Finnell in 1971. Both of his parents preceded him in death, as did his sister Samantha Stracener.
Speedy enjoyed laughing and making others laugh, riding motorcycles and listening to music. He is described as “ a good Dad” who loved spending time with his kids, mentoring at AA and a proud member of the Carpenters Union.
Survivors include his wife Rhonda Jean Jones, seven daughters Jacki (Kyle) Hawkins, Hebron, Chloe Jones, Covington, Kimberly Jones, Tennessee, Amber Arvin, Ft. Meyers, FL, Brittany Arvin, Hamilton, OH, Brandi (Brandon) Webb, Reading, OH and Madison Wilburn, Hamilton, OH, three sons Nathaniel Buel, Walton, Jarod Jones, Covington and Obie Jones, Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, brothers Obie (Tracey) Jones, Independence, Brandon (Angie) Stacy, Florence and Johnny (Mary) Stacy, Batavia, OH, eight grandchildren Lilly and Rowan Hawkins, Jordan, Jarod and Jeffrey Webb, Isiah Banfield, Braydon Gluhm, Bryson Shakur and many, many friends.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-9959.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Speedy’s Life will be held at the Florence Elks Lodge 314, 7704 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY (lower, rear level) on Saturday September 7, 2019 from 3:00-6:00 PM.
Speedy’s final resting place will be next to his mother Billie at Holland-Terry Cemetery in Busy, Kentucky.
