She was born December 21, 1933 the daughter of Milton and Alice (Frook) Shine in Cadillac, MI. Joan went on to graduate from Mesick High School and County Normal Teacher's College. In 1954, Joan married the love of her life, the late Pastor Gail Pike, and began her own special ministry for the Lord, over 50 years as a pastor's wife at Merson Church.
Throughout those years, Joan loved calling members of the church her "kids" and dear friends, as well as family and friends. The family suggests memorials to either Merson Church or Great Lakes Hospice Foundation; 900 Cooper St.; Jackson, MI 49202. Arrangements by the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home.
