Vickie M. Russell, 66, of Grinnell died on September 3, 2019, at the Grinnell Health Care Center.

Vickie was born on March 27, 1953, in Grinnell, the daughter of Donald John "Bull" and Marietta Mary Kriegel Crawford. She was raised in Grinnell and attended school in the Grinnell School District.
On July 10, 1975, she married Gary Wayne Russell, Sr., at the Jasper County Courthouse in Newton. The couple lived in Grinnell for a few years prior to living in communities in Wyoming, South Dakota, and California. They moved to Newton in 1989 and to Marshalltown in 1994, where they owned operated a restaurant. They returned to Grinnell in 1996. While in Grinnell she was employed for several years at Casey's General Store, east. Vickie had been a resident of Grinnell Health Care Center since February of 2018.
Vickie held a great love for her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking, traveling, and especially camping. She liked to have fun. She was an avid fan of NASCAR and driver, Joey Logano, and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Surviving are her son, Gary "Bubba" (Jennifer) Russell of Grinnell; four grandchildren, Eli, Owen, Chaz, and Ava; three brothers, John (Joleen) Crawford of Clifton Hill, Missouri, Jim (Shelly) Crawford of Sioux City, and Jerry (Mindy) Crawford of Grinnell; and one sister, Rita (Keith) Blocker of Malcom.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rose Mary Crawford.
