“Loved by everyone who ever met her. “ Cheryl Kay Thomas Del Monte left us today, Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 7:45 PM. Her husband and youngest daughter with her when she passed. Her older daughter and her son were in transit to Phoenix and she tried to wait for them but just couldn’t make it. Cheryl was wife and companion to two very fortunate men, the mother of three incredible, magnificent children, and the grandmother of six really cool kids who are not really kids anymore. She was strong proponent of women’s rights and a liberal conservative who saw no conflict in holding divergent views. She graduated from Arizona State University, worked many years at the Arizona Republic newspaper, and was proud of being instrumental in bringing the paper on-line and creating the AzCentral.com website. She wrote four books in her “Arrowstar” series under the pen name C. K. Thomas. These are books about strong western women written by a very strong western woman. She loved to travel but especially loved coming home to Arizona each time. All who know her love her. All who knew her miss her.
