It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear husband, father, grandpa / pépère / Pepper, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, at the age of 84, on Tuesday, December 18, 2012.

He is predeceased by his parents Edouard and Marie-Anne Gagnon, three brothers, three sisters, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Anita (née Gauthier), of 61 years; nine children: Raymond (Donna), Lucien (Pauline), Simone (Philippe), Robert (Colette), Jeannette (Jean-Pierre), Gisele (Max), Rose (Rick), Irene (Gilles), Yvette (Rodney), 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister Emilienne (Emilien), and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

Dad, you were always so gentle, faithful, loving, strong, humble, playful, proud, and determined, right to the very end.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Ste. Anne Hospital for their care and compassion. They would also like to thank all their relatives and friends for their continued support.

A memorial service in Abel's honour will be held at the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church, Rue Centrale, Ste. Anne, MB, on Saturday, December 22, 2012. Prayers will commence at 1:30 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place immediately after service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ste. Anne Hospital Fund Inc., 52 St. Gerard St., Ste. Anne, MB R5H 1C4.

Your legacy will forever live on in your family.
