Obituary

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" II Tim 4:7 KJV

On Wednesday, April 6, 1966, Theresa Moncell Hayes was born in Jonesboro, Louisiana to Nellie J. and Mack Hayes Junior.

Theresa attended George Washington High School located in Denver, Colorado. She worked for Hobby Lobby, Cherry Creek School District and later Nabisco.

On Saturday, August 3, 2019, God in His infinite wisdom picked from His garden a flower that bloomed into an Angel.

There is not enough time during Theresa's home going celebration nor enough space on this page to convey her incredible journey. She had a larger than life personality and she thought she knew everything! She was funny and fun loving. And because she touched so many lives, she will be missed more than she could had ever imagine.

She believed in hard work, pursuing your goals and keeping God first. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews. She loved traveling to Louisiana to visit extended family members. She appreciated music and the girl could sing.

Not only was Theresa a loving and supportive mom to her son, Deris, she was also a faithful and devoted daughter, a dependable sister to her brothers, Terry and Derrick, and an aunt that her nieces and nephews could rely on. She was no stranger to anyone and had many friends. She wanted those she loved most to succeed at life.

She is preceded in death by her father, Mack Hayes Junior.

Theresa leaves to cherish her memory, her son Deris Tillis, her mother Nellie Hayes, two brothers Terry Hayes and Derrick (Tangela) Hayes of Denver, Colorado, her nieces and nephews, Marcus, Zaizhawneeq, Quazhunae, Zukory and Semaj, one great niece, Nevaeh, one great nephew, King and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
