She was the daughter of the late Bronislaw J. Grejdus and the late Elizabeth (nee Fuhr) Griets. Born on March 21, 1923 in Norristown, PA., she was the wife of the late Curtis R. Sheppard, who died in 1964. Mrs. Welch was a longtime resident of Penn Street in Bridgeton prior to entering Eagleview in 2011.
An inspector for Wheaton Glass in Millville for several years, she was a member of The Parish of the Holy Cross/Church of the Immaculate Conception. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Immaculate Conception Regional School, was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She was a member of Local 219, GBBA of Millville.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Catherine M. Sheppard of Mullica Hill and Michael Iverson (Misty L. Vaughn) of Millville, two great grandchildren, Michael B. Anthony Iverson and Branson Kristof Iverson and several nieces and nephews. Her two sons, Robert Thomas Sheppard and Curtis John Sheppard preceded in her death as did her siblings, Pete Griets, Bernard Griets, Helen Belson and Mary Hoffnagle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral which will originate at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Friday morning September 6th at 10:30 and will be followed by an 11 o'clock Funeral Liturgy at The Parish of the Holy Cross/Church of the Immaculate Conception, 312 N. Pearl St., Bridgeton.
The burial will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:30 until 10:30.
