Palermo – Who that passes through our rural town on one of these quiet summer evenings, when the sun is sinking to rest and the birds are warbling their good-night songs in the tree-tops, would stop to think how often in the past year the angel of death had passed up and down, back and forth, on these traveled roads, stopping first here, the there to spread its dark wings over different homes and reap with death's sickle loved ones to be gathered into the Father's fold some one in the prime and blossom of life, while others were only waiting, with boary heads, like the over ripe grain, the glad harvest-time.

Once again on Wednesday last, this silent messenger came and entered with noiseless steps the home of D. H. Trimble, and never heeding the loving hearts that were watching with hushed breath the stricken form of the wife and mother, and gathered her in the cold arms of death.

On Friday her funeral was held at Denton's Corners. A large concourse of people met to pay their last respects to one who had preceded them through the dark valley and shadow of death. Her remains were taken to South Scriba for burial.
