A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Hereford, Texas, he passed away at his home on Saturday, April 12, 2008. He was 94 and retired from Ironworkers Local Union 623, where he was recently honored as being the oldest living retiree. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday, April 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes Tuesday at the funeral home chapel from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his wife of six years, Beatrice "Bea" V. Walker; two stepdaughters, Gloria Miles and husband Greg and Rose Marie Gravois; son, Michael Walker and wife Daryl; three stepsons, Anthony Jr., David Paul and Roy Medine; sister, Doris McKinley; and numerous grandchildren, including Ryan and Evan Walker and Wayne Myers, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Adam Walker; stepson, Michael Medine Sr.; and a brother. He enjoyed plaing dominos and pokeno at the Council on Aging. The family expresses their deepest thanks to Cardinal Hospice and their caring staff. Pallbearers will be Gary Miles, Roy Medine, David Medine, Michael Medine Jr., David Gravois Jr., Eric Campbell, Taylor Byrd and DeMarco "Doc" Breaux.
