Daniel Ramirez
May 12, 1927 - August 30, 2019

Mr. Daniel Ramirez peacefully entered eternal rest to be with the Lord and to join his beloved bride on August 30th 2019.He was born on May 12, 1927 in Ivanhoe, California to Guadalupe and Daniel Ramirez. He was the second oldest child out of 9 children. He grew up in Ivanhoe/Visalia area. He also served his country by joining the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. Upon his return he married the love of his life. Roberta on June 14, 1953. They were married for over 60 years, together they raised their family of 5 children Ernie, Liz, Richard, Dolores and Denny.
He held many jobs, titles, and achievements during his long prosperous life; Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Brother, Friend, Uncle, Cousin, Godfather, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and even reached Great-Great Grandfather.
He was a very hard worker and often worked all day in the fields, returning home to eat dinner and where most peoples day would end not Daniels. He would go back out to the cold storage warehouse, where he worked at night loading ice blocks on railroad cars. His work ethics and love for his family is exhibited to this day. His children have created and raised their own families and their children to follow suit.
He loved seeing his children grow and prosper. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren, often spoiling them when he could every Sunday. He would hunt cottontail and loved fishing with his compadre Julio. He, also took pleasure in frog and mushroom hunting. He loved playing cards with his brother Ray. His passion for cards was exhibited in his willingness to teach everyone how to play (pretty sure, he cheated everytime, so he could win, though).
He loved going on trips, especially his mini vacations with Ernie/Lori, trips to the casino, he loved to watch Western/Scary Movies/ Walker Texas Ranger, A&W Burgers/Floats and Trips to Three Rivers, especially his stops at Reimer's to enjoy the delicious ice cream/candy. Boy! He loved his sweets.
He cared for his home, he was often seen watering and tending to the many fruit trees and vegetables he harvested.
We would like to Thank Marilyn (AKA Marilyn Monroe) Dad's caregiver, for the wonderful care that she provided to our father for the past 5 years. He truly enjoyed every meal that she prepared for him.
He was preceded in death by his sons: Denny, Richard and by his beloved wife Roberta.
He is survived by his children: Ernie (Lori) Ramirez, Liz (Robert) Jaramillo, Dolores (Ernesto) Melendres.
He will be greatly missed and his legacy lives on through his family and friends.
