WINSTED – Theresa “Tina” Carfiro, 100, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2019 at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Frank J. Carfiro.
Born October 27, 1918 in Winsted; the daughter of the late Joseph and Concetta (Adorno) Aliano. Tina’s greatest joy was taking care of her family. She loved to cook and crochet. The family would like to thank her caregiver, Elizabeth for her extraordinary care of “Mama.”
She is survived by her sons, Frank Carfiro and wife Suzanne of Winsted and Robert Carfiro and wife Kathleen of Colebrook; grandchildren, John Sessa, Christopher Carfiro, Tony Carfiro and wife Melissa, Craig Carfiro and wife Hope and Nicole Carfiro; great grandchildren; Taylor Carfiro, Sarah Carfiro, Anthony Carfiro, Sandra Carfiro and Sophia Sessa. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Sessa and three brothers, Frank Aliano, Chester Aliano and Joseph Aliano.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at St. Joseph Church, Winsted at 10 AM.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Winsted.
