Haltom City - Benny Wayne Phillips, 83, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019

Benny was born May 10, 1936, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Floyd and Thelma Phillips. After serving in the armed forces, he returned home and married Peggy Livingston. They soon moved to North Texas and became lifelong residents of Haltom City, where they raised three children, Bobby, Carol and Susan. Benny was a talented worker in the Machine Shop and Sheet metal industry and it became his lifelong career. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and dancing, but Benny's true passion was Auto Racing. He was an owner, driver and lifelong fan of Stock Car Racing. His friends mention that he was always knowledgeable and gave good advice.

Benny was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; parents, Floyd and Thelma; and younger brother Billy.

Survivors: Son, Bobby Cathey and wife, Kerri, and their daughter, Shelby Innabnit and husband, Seth; daughter, Carol Trussell, and her children, Michael Trussell and wife, Lauren, and Andrea Arter and husband, Jason; daughter, Susan Brackeen, and her son, Stefen Barrett and partner, Nick Moore; four great-grandchildren, Serinety Barrett, Wynter and Brooklynn Trussell, and Colt Innabnit.
