WALKER, JOHN FRANKLIN 'FRANK'
age 94, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home in Knoxville on August 30, 2013. Frank was retired from Bell South after 40 years of service and very active with the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was preceded in death by wife, Ann, and daughter, Linda Walker Clifton. He is survived by wife, Edith; daughter, Julia Franklin of Old Hickory; grandson, Brett Franklin (Christy) and their children, Lucas, Colton, Ava and Aubree of Atlanta; son, Gary Stewart (Marty) of Nashville and daughter, Dale Ann Walker of Maryville. He is also survived by Linda's children, Nancy 'Nikki' and Carrie of Rockwood. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 4, 2013, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Tennessee National Cemetery, on Lyons View Pike in Knoxville, immediately followed by a service to celebrate Frank's life. Pastor Dennis Blazier will officiate the service. During Frank's life, he loved helping and serving others and is continuing to do so by donating his body for medical research. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ben Atchley State Veterans Home, One Veterans Way, Knoxville, TN 37931.
