Nancy Allen Baldwin, 72, died peacefully at Valley View Manor Nursing Home in Norwich, NY on Friday, August 30, 2019, after a 19-year battle with Parkinson's disease.

Nancy was born Nancy Jo Camm on March 22, 1947, in Quantico, VA, and was lovingly adopted in 1949 by Willard Hilton Baldwin and Mildred Allen Baldwin, of Binghamton, NY.

She graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1965 and went on to SUNY Cobleskill where she earned an associate’s degree in food science. In 1984, Nancy returned to school to earn her teaching certificate, and soon after began her career as director of pre-K for many schools over several years.

Over many decades, Nancy traveled extensively, and lived in Germany and Thailand for a time before moving to different places across the United States. In 1993, she returned to New York because she really felt it was home. After her return, she completed her bachelor’s degree in education at the age of 50. Nancy went on to work with special needs children until her early retirement in 2005.

Nancy enjoyed music, singing, reading, plays, movies, and the arts. She also won many cooking contests, loved sewing and needlepoint, wrote beautiful poetry, and enjoyed making new friends wherever she went. She loved her family and God. She was a fiery redhead with a dry wit, and her smile was loving and infectious. There are not enough words to describe what she meant to so many. She had a wealth of good friends and many who adored her.

Nancy is survived by her longtime companion, Robert “Bob” Scudder, of Norwich;
only child, Jennifer Baldwin-Kukuchka (Joe), of Highlands Ranch, CO;
grandson, Zander Hilton Kukuchka, of Highlands Ranch, CO;
sister, Susan Gilliamsen, of Savannah, GA;
nieces, Megan Garrison and Pamela Sheridan, of Savannah, GA, Nicholle Johnson Hanley (Ryan), of St. Petersburg, FL;
and great-niece, Bella Anne, of Savannah, GA.
Nancy is also survived by a great many cousins and friends scattered throughout the United States.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Mildred Baldwin;
brother, Gregory Scott Elkins;
and grandson, Cole Hilton Kukuchka.

A memorial service for Nancy will be held in the summer of 2020. Committal at Forest Home Cemetery in Waverly, NY, is also pending.
