OCTOBER 14, 1932 ~ AUGUST 28, 2019 (AGE 86)

Phyllis Rae (Ice) Burns was born October 14, 1932 in Geary, Oklahoma to Ray and Irene (Hill) Ice.

She passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in Weatherford, Oklahoma at the age of 86.

Phyllis grew up in Geary, and graduated from Geary High School. She married Nelson Burns July 1, 1951, in Geary. The couple made their home in Geary where she worked for Mr. Holman at First National Bank while helping on the farm and running their household.

Phyllis enjoyed gardening, mowing, cooking, canning, reading, riding her horse, and working with their cattle. She traveled with Nelson to cattle sales in many states giving advice on what bulls to buy.

She was a member of Home Demonstration Club, Oklahoma Hereford Women, and First United Methodist Church where she was active in Ladies Circle. She served as a 4H Leader and loved attending stock shows and bull sales.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Irene Ice, grandmother, Emma Hill, son, Tim Burns,

2 brothers, Donald and A.N. Ice and son in law, Bill Knox.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Nelson Burns of Geary, OK, 2 children, Diana Sue Knox of Geary, OK, and David Burns and wife Suzy of Geary, OK, grandchildren, Nina Wagner and husband Nathan of Okarche, OK, Step granddaughters, Laura Peters and husband Gene, Geary and Chris Knox, Oklahoma City, and 2 great grandchildren, Sage and Zane as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.



In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Tim Burns FFA Scholarship Fund at Cornerstone Bank or to the charity of your choice.



Services: Monday, 10AM, September 2, 2019, First United Methodist Church, Geary, OK

Officiating: Rev. Charles King

Burial: Geary Cemetery, Geary, OK
