Leon Lavern "Skip" Harrison, 37, of the 3700 block of Indianola Avenue died of a heart attack Wednesday at home. Services will be at noon Saturday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Harrison was born in Vancouver, WA, and had lived in Des Moines 25 years. He was a musician and had founded The Accidental Sisters band. He enjoyed music, reading and writing.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; his parents, Betty and Dennis Harrison of Des Moines; two brothers, William Harrison of Salem, OR and Paris Bergler of Des Moines; and five sisters, Cindy Elliott of Vancouver, Brenda Turner of Salem, OR, Pamela Baker of Des Moines, Vicky Harrison of Long Beach, CA, and Debbie Bolfik of West Des Moines.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
