Mrs. Hensel attended Jabbok Bible School and Messiah College. She served with her husband in six pastorates in PA, KS, OH, TN and KY as well as at the World Missions Office of the Brethren in Christ Church.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 72 years, Glenn Hensel, whom she married on June 3, 1944; three sons: Bertram (wife Shirley), Clifton (wife Margaret), and Paul (wife Janet); a daughter, Jan Martin (husband Lyle); 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Violet Heise of Upland, CA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Green and sister, Goldie Hunt.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the West Side Brethren in Christ Church, 2665 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor James Sollenberger will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 AM until service time. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in her memory to Brethren in Christ World Missions, 431 Grantham Road, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17055. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L.
