Grace was a member of the First Church of God, Mechanicsburg, its Ladies Organization and the Bible Study Group. For 30 years, she taught the three year-old class in the Childrens Department of the Sunday School. She was a former President of the Fellowship Bible Class and served as Secretary and Treasurer for the "Young at Heart" of the church.
Grace graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 1937 with a perfect attendance record for all twelve years of school. She volunteered at Meals on Wheels for 25 years; volunteered in the kitchen for many years at Citizens Fire and Rescue Company #2 and was a charter member of AARP of Mechanicsburg.
Grace took great pride in her baking abilities, she was especially known for her pies. She was also an accomplished needle-worker, spending many hours in the tedious hobby of crocheting.
She was married to William B. Adams from December 27, 1941 until his death in 2000.
Surviving are her sons Edward B. Adams, his wife Eddie (Reeder) of Stevens; James W. Adams, his wife Kimberly (Simeon) of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren, Annie Flaud, husband Michael; Ross Adams, wife Lauren and Abigale Adams and a great granddaughter, Elle Grace Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, in the Church of God Home Chapel, 801 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle, where there will be a viewing from 1:00 p.m. until time of services. Pastor Bob Malick will officiate. Burial in Mechanicsburg Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
