Stephen Douglas Fisher, 73, of Decatur, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019, at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Stephen was born July 18, 1946, in Decatur, to Walter Woodworth and Julia Helen (Smith) Fisher. He graduated from FBI Academy in Quantico, VA. He owned and operated the teen club “The Morgue” in the late sixties. He was a life-long drummer of multiple local bands, including Fugitives and Bare Wire. He served as the Macon County Sheriff from 1976-1986. He was a member of the IBEW Local 146 and the NRA. He was an avid gun collector and passionate in politics. He married Donna Cheryle Leslie on July 3, 1985 in Decatur, IL. He was a TRUE FAMILY MAN to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Donna; eight children, Eric Fisher of Virginia, Aaron James Fisher of Geneva, IL, Adam (Amanda) Fisher of Decatur, Chad (Shannon) Chambers of Corpus Christi, TX, Juston Clark of Macon, IL, Jill (Jeremy) Tracey of Omaha, NE, Autumn ( Matthew) Mitchell – Cupp of Decatur, IL and Ali Fisher of Decatur, IL; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his brother, Keith (Linda) Fisher of Lake in the Hills, IL and his sister, Vicki (Dr. Connie) Urban of Frankfort, IL
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honoring Stephen Fisher’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL. Per Stephen’s request, memorials may be directed to Donald J. Trump President, Inc C/O Trump Tower 725 5th Avenue New York, NY 10022. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
