Canadian Statesman. He served as the 7th Premier of the Yukon from November 30, 2002 to June 10, 2011. Before getting into politics, he was involved in various economic ventures including logging, tourism, mining, trucking, and fuel distribution. He was first elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly in 1996 and served in this body until 2011. During his legislative tenure, he became a member of the Yukon Party and later served as its leader. In 2002, he became premier after leading the party to a legislative majority. He served in this post until 2011, when he stepped down. He passed away after a battle with cancer.
