Harold was the son of Robert Martin & Melissa A. "Lizzie" (Sharp) Cantonwine, the grandson of Abraham & Elizabeth (White) Cantonwine, and the great-grandson of Charles & Mary Magdalena (Scholl) Cantonwine.

Charles, the patriarch of the Cantonwine family, immigrated to America from Prussia in 1806, arriving in Philadelphia, Penn., aboard the ship Orlando. The ship's passenger list shows "Chr. Kuntentwine, single man." The name Kuntentwine later evolved to Cantonwine, and Charles appears to be the only surnamed Kuntentwine/Cantonwine to immigrate to America. Eight or so years after his arrival in Philadelphia, in about 1814, Charles married Mary Magdalena Scholl, daughter of Charles Jacob & Margaret (Fuhr) Scholl, in Bedford county, Pennsylvania.

On April 12, 1926, Harold married Georgia Turley in Golden, Jefferson county, CO. Georgia had three children by her first husband, Alman Prescott Turley, whom she married at age 15. The children were Margaret, Coleman, and William Turley.

The only record found that might relate to Georgia's first husband is an SSDI record which shows the same birth date as the below World War I draft registration record:

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might be connected with this Turley family.
