Kim Simpson Griffin was a longtime North Bend, Oregon tennis instructor who also worked as a substitute teacher. He was the grandson of the founder of North Bend [founded in 1903], Louis Jerome Simpson and his second wife, Lela Simpson. Kim Griffin was the son of Thomas Griffin and Barbara Simpson Griffin. He was reported missing and found dead a week later near a hiking trail in North Bend on Thursday, August 29th. His cause of death was hypothermia and exposure.
