Doris Lucille Williamson was born July 19, 1924 to Halvor and Amanda (Hawkinson) Bourne at their home in Rosewood Township, Chippewa County. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Watson. She attended Country School District 33 and Montevideo High School, graduating with the Class of 1941. After graduation she enjoyed doing bookkeeping and secretarial work. On February 25, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Allen Williamson. They lived and farmed in Havelock Township together for 63 years. Eight children were born to Lloyd and Doris. Family was important to her. She encouraged everyone to “keep in touch”. When time permitted, she researched the ancestry of all four sides of their family - sharing the findings with other family and relatives.
Doris always had a big garden with plenty to share. She enjoyed cooking and baking, taking pictures, putting together recipe books and prayer books for the family, making scrapbooks of news happenings, and family albums and history books. She loved the country life, and kept active as long as age permitted.
Doris is survived by her children: Paulette, Tom, Barbara, Harvey, John, Mary Ann, Nan and Robert; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Carol, Margaret, Pauline, Marlys and Richard; and many nieces and nephews.
