Johnny Lee Evans, 62 of Whitman, WV went to be with the Lord Tuesday August 27, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital with family at his side.

He was born September 29, 1956 to the late James “Jim Bob” Sr. and Geraldine Evans.

His favorite pastime was attending his home church, New Day Worship Center and he loved bowling at Plaza Lanes bowling alley where he bowled a 299 game.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Baisden Evans; brother, James “Jim Bob” (Terri) Evans Jr.; sisters, Patricia (Tom) Caldwell; two sons, Chadwick (Kelly) Baisden, and Corey (Trina) Baisden; grandchildren, Christopher “Bub” Stowers, Gabby Baisden Collins, Abby Baisden, Ashley Ward, Kayden Ward, Corey Adams, Jasmine Adams, and Kristin Butcher; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday August 31, 2019 at Akers-James Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chad Baisden, Corey Baisden, Chris Stowers, Kayden Ward, Jim Bob Evans, and Rick Varney. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Bowen and Brian Bowen.
