Thomas C Norwood passed August 29, 2019 at the age of 89 at home.

Tommy was born November 16, 1929 to Thomas and Edith Norwood in Willows, Mississippi.

Tommy married Helen Green Norwood, of Carlisle MS, on March 13, 1948. Tommy and Helen were married for 62 years before she preceded him in death in 2010. They have 3 surviving children, Beth Brown (Wayne), Todd Norwood (Joni), John Norwood (Jana). Grandchildren, Luke Brasel (Amanda), Chrissy Brewer (John), Ben Norwood, and 4 great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his sister Rie Norwood.

Tommy owned a very successful logging company for the entirety of his career until his retirement in 1985.

His hobbies that he was a master craftsman at knife making, wood work and stained glass. He was also an incredible mechanic, able to fix anything that he came across.

Tommy was an avid woodsman and sportsman. He loved hunting and fishing. He spent the vast majority of his free time at Panola Hunting Club where he proudly served as president for many years. He enjoyed nothing more than the comradery of his fellow hunting club members, and his dear friends.

Special and sincere thanks to Charlyn Wilson, Debbie Jean O’Quinn, Dr David Headley, and Encompass Healthcare for the care given to Tommy in the last years of his life.

A visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Carpenter Cemetery.
