Gerald "Jerry" Claude Dawson, 78, of Webster Groves, Mo., passed March 2, 2018, at his residence. He was born June 10, 2039, in East St. Louis, Ill., to William Dawson and Alta (Bilbrey) Roziewski.

Jerry was the owner and operator of Dawson Engineering for sixty years. Early in his career he built and nationally raced top fuel dragsters. He continued building race cars, hotrods and dragsters including his most recent known as "Dawson's Demon." He loved collecting art, antiques and primitive furniture and was an avid fisherman. Jerry was baptized in the Lutheran church and was a spiritual person.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother; William Dawson.

He is survived by one son; Jacob Andrew Dawson of St. Louis, MO; special friend Barry Masters and her son, Dr. Maxwell Kerm; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018, graveside at Duncan Cemetery near Piedmont, Mo. Pastor Nelma Williams will minister to the family.
