Funeral service for Lu Cloud will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019, in Calvary Baptist Church with her grandson, Louis Jacob (Jace) Cloud and Daniel Litchford, Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Faxon Cemetery under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Lu Cloud, age 92, Lawton, died Thursday, August 29, 2019 at her residence. She was born August 14, 1927 in Faxon, Oklahoma to Lester Olin and Fern Elizabeth Paden. She was a 1945 graduate of Lawton High School and later graduated from Cameron Junior College in 1947 with an associate’s degree. She married L.J. Cloud on June 27, 1947 at the Holy City of the Wichitas Chapel.

Lu worked for T.D. Nicklas in his law firm and at Fort Sill for a short time but spent the majority of her life a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was active in WMU, taught Sunday school classes in the children’s department and for adult women and volunteered for several years in the clothes closet ministry.

She is survived by her husband, L.J. Cloud, of the home; three children and their spouses, Louis Jon and Vickie Cloud, Chris and Kathy Cloud and Candace Jill and Rusty Riddle; grandchildren and their spouses, Micah Brooke and Gregory Garza, Louis Jacob (Jace) and Hannah Cloud, Christi and Todd Woods, Kinsey Lou and Brian Toth, Hannah Elizabeth and Matthew Butler, Ryan and Shaynah Riddle and Keegan and Jessica Riddle; great grandchildren, Landry Garza, Chloe Grace Cloud, Clara Faith Cloud, Judah Scot Cloud, Peyton Haley, Parker Haley, Aiden Woods, Kiersten Woods, Kayla Woods, Brycen Toth, Kale Toth, Poppy Inez Butler, Bentlee Riddle, Kinslee Riddle, Wyatt Riddle, Kaylah Riddle, Harper Riddle, Reggie Riddle and Tate Edgar; as well as a special great niece and caregiver, Amber Kendall.

Her parents, sisters, Wilma Pursley and Billie J. Howeth-Strong, and brothers, Victor O., Wayne and Johnnie Paden preceded her in death. The family wishes to note special thanks to Quantum Home Health, and Marla Dodd of Promise Care Hospice.
