Janice Geoghagan James, 78, was called home by her Lord unexpectedly on September 14, 2018. Jan was born June 4, 1940 in Walton County, Florida. She was preceded in death by her mother, Avie and her father, Dallas Geoghagan. Jan is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jerry W. James; her daughters, Sherrie Zier (Joe), Cindy Taylor, Jenny St. John (Ed), and son, Dell James; grandchildren, Jessica Rivas (Jonathan), Gerald Moore, Erica Taylor, John Michael Taylor, Jr., Rachel Taylor (Mustafa), Ansley St. John, Garrett St. John, Gabby Nelson, and Bella Taylor and her two great-grandchildren, Mattie and Adam. Jan is also survived by her sister, Josie Webb; brother, Joel Geoghagan (Carol), her niece, Lori Morgan (Wes) and their two sons, Dallas and Jaxon all of Panama City.

If you knew Jan, it was obvious how much she loved the Lord and her family, including her church family. A devout Christian, Jan was a member of Evangel Temple and loved volunteering at the Samaritan House. Jan attended over ten mission trips. She had 22 years as a medical assistant and was a loving and nurturing Pre-K teacher for eight years.

Jan always made everyone feel special and loved. Truly a gift from God to everyone whose life she touched, Jan held a special place in the hearts of those who loved her. The Celebration of Life will be held 11 AM Wednesday September 19, 2018 at Evangel Temple Assembly of God, 5755 Ramona Blvd., Jacksonville. Jan’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18, from 6-8 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, Jan requested contributions be made to the Evangel Temple Building Fund.
